President’s Letter May 2020

Greetings NASASPS Members,

I hope you are all staying safe and healthy! In the May newsletter, I typically reflect on the NASASPS Annual Conference. Unfortunately, this year’s conference scheduled to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, was canceled.  I am disappointed that we did not all get to gather to connect, learn from each other and share best practices. However, the Board is excited to host the first NASASPS Virtual Seminar in June.  This online event will focus on providing information and guidance regarding education regulation and approval in the COVID-19 Era.  Registration is available now on the NASASPS website and I hope you will be able to join us for this event.

Without a doubt, this past spring has brought challenging and unusual times.  However, it is said that every cloud has a silver lining.  COVID-19 has forced us to think about the way we do things and to consider different, innovative methods and practices. Educational leaders have pulled together during this time and found ways to move forward. I hope this sentiment of collaboration continues in the coming months.

COVID-19 has also forced a slow-down in our everyday lives.  I know my family has enjoyed a break from the fast paced, activity-filled schedule.  As we look to return to activities, I hope everyone takes time to reflect on the past few months and appreciate the beauty of our world and value of our relationships.  I hope we implement changes that lead to an appreciation of and care for one another.

All the best,

Best Regards,
Crystal Puderbaugh
NASASPS President
